Falkirk Cultural Center

1408 Mission Ave, San Rafael

We are hosting an open house at our our lovely Falkirk office in San Rafael. Come snack, sip, and quaff with other ocean lovers. There will be music and good conversations will be hard to avoid. You’ll get to see where we spend our days conspiring, and hear how we got here.

We’re looking forward to celebrating with you all!

Toby’s Feed Barn

11250 CA-1, Point Reyes Station

Area artists will present multiple interpretations of traditional Tibetan prayer flags at a sale and auction to benefit Ocean Conservation Research (OCR) at Toby’s Feed Barn in Point Reyes Station. The flags will be on display in the barn beginning November 10. Silent auction bids will be accepted there until Saturday, November 18, at 2 P.M. when a program featuring OCR founder Michael Stocker, musician Joyce Kouffman, transformative naturalist Claire Peaslee, and others will precede a final live auction of the art works. Admission is free.

Tibetan prayer flags, traditionally made of fabric painted with poems, prayers, and religious symbols, are hung in the wind to represent the practice of sending blessings into the world. Versions of them now are made all over the world by people wishing to express those same sentiments and to acknowledge special events. The flags created by the artists for this event will capture a wide variety of artistic expressions related to the ocean.
