Ocean Noise Pollution in the News:

A short piece in NYT about the concern for Bowhead Whales vs. Human priorities:

Behavioral response study (BRS) exposes tagged beaked whales to various sounds to see how they respond. Beaked whales figure heavily in Office of Naval Research and National Marine Fisheries Service studies because of their inconvenient habit of ending up on beaches after Naval excercises:

A clearly written article on the impact of ocean noise pollution on whale "ship-strikes." This artilcle also give a good overview of the ocean noise problem:

Navy considers impacts of noise on beaked whales - a few inaccuracies in the article, but a good overview of the US Warfare Training Range impacts. This article also mentions an East Coast stranding in March 2007:
